I have a strong history of service and dedication to the Irvine community including over 19 years as a volunteer in the Irvine Unified School District. I am very proud of the 8 years I have served as an IUSD School Board member and know that experience counts when helping to lead the District.
My wife, Wendy, and I have lived in Irvine for 22 years. We have raised our three children here and all 3 of our kids attended IUSD schools at Brywood, Sierra Vista and Northwood High School. I believe it is critical to have School Board members who have had students actually attend IUSD schools.
Education: Received Government degree magna cum laude from Harvard University and Law degree magna cum laude from Indiana University.
Professional Experience: I am an experienced lawyer who has practiced law for over 28 years, both as a private attorney and as an in-house attorney and General Counsel. I have a wide range of experience handling complex transactions, managing compliance domestically and internationally and overseeing complex litigation to achieve successful results. I also have litigated cases in numerous areas of the law, including commercial disputes, trade secret disputes, products liability, employment law, unfair business practices, insurance law, trademark infringement, healthcare law and securities.
I have been very active in the IUSD community in many ways because I care deeply about the District and the experiences and opportunities we provide for Irvine's children. Throughout the past 19 years, my experience in IUSD has included:
- Irvine Unified School District Governing Board Member from 2012 to Present
- Past Board President
- Irvine School Board Committee Liaison to:
- Alumni interviewer and College Fair volunteer for Harvard
- Former Member of the IUSD Finance Committee
- Former President of the Brywood Elementary School PTA
- Co-founder of the Brywood Dads
